Let's start with the resources we have here first. I'm still working on something to transfer and share information without CERES knowing...haven't really had time to perfect anything with everything that's going on. [There's a pause.] We sorta took a side-trip right after we got back from the jungle. It's a long story.
[But he gets it.] ...and I get it. Trust me. There're some things I'm still working on like that, too. I'm just making sure.
Trust me, next time I need to talk about the jungle thing? I'll let you know.
[ Because, yes, there would be a next time. But the advice of Hiro and others had stuck - Dipper couldn't do this alone, and talking to his friends was better than being an anonymous nobody on the network or not talking about it at all.
That's all that matters. [With that promise made he leans back suddenly to look and make sure they really are alone. He hasn't told many people about his adventures, but it's definitely time to tell Dipper.]
I...sorta broke into the CERES research tower a couple of days ago. Again. I didn't go by myself though, so don't worry about that.
[That's probably not something Dipper would worry about but whatever.]
[ Dipper's eyebrows duly fly up, though he matches Hiro's discretion and speaks more quietly. ]
How do you sort of breaking into the CERES research tower? [ Okay, never mind, that's not important. What's important is that it happened, and Dipper wants all the details. ] What happened? What did you find?
We literally walked right in. [Yeah, he doesn't get it either.] It was me, Tadashi, two friends of ours, and two friends of one of our friends. We split up into groups of three and we were looking for some information about the ocular implants. We kinda found out some other stuff instead.
[...man.] We found a ton of generators inside the tower, Dipper. And something even freakier that was watching us. It had to have been watching us the whole time, I don't know. But I'm still not sure what to think of it, if it was an alien with a mask or a monster or worse. [Give him a moment, he's grabbing for paper to sketch it from memory to pass to Dipper to look.]
More like I started the transmission, the thing stared at us, started it again and then it looked at me and screamed at us before the whole feed was cut. [Honestly it was a little freaky on top of everything else.] I don't know if anybody knows what it is, but it also prompted a message on screen that spelled out bare. Whatever that means.
Bare? That's...strange. Have you run into that word in relation to CERES at all before? Maybe it's a codeword or something, like a project name. Or maybe it's an acronym.
Maybe not at me, but it screamed after it looked at us. And it wasn't a human scream. Imagine the worst-sounding animal scream possible, and then imagine the sound of a huge car crash. Put those together and you get maybe half of what it sounded like.
[It's definitely not anything he's going to forget anytime soon.] I'm gonna guess it's an acronym the way the letters were separated, but I have no idea what it would be. I need to start asking people who've been here longer than me. Maybe Rei or somebody. My friend Athena might know, too. Just keep that in mind in case you find something before I do.
There've been enough people inside that tower that someone's bound to know and if they don't know, they've gotta know someone who does. I like that idea though as the first task. Maybe add in the task of finding out more about what we learned in the jungle. The sacrifices? There's a reason they told us about that. We gotta find out more about it.
Hopefully I'll have some kind of prototype or we'll have a more air tight cipher to use for the info-ring by the time we're ready to investigate.
Yeah, we do, and maybe someone knows more about it without us having to go back out there.
[ Because Dipper can only speak for himself, but he's definitely still not ready to go back into the jungle. ]
I think I've got a pretty tough cipher figured out. I could have you look over it. Or, you know, feel over it. [ Because, braille. ] Have you looked into the signal-blocking thing at all?
At least not anytime soon. [That is to say that Hiro will definitely go back if need be, but right now they have zero plans.]
I've looked into it and I have a couple of ideas...not really sure it's going to work but I can start testing some stuff. I might need Tadashi's help actually. [As much as he hates admitting that.] Let me rework some of my theories and get back to you on that.
Okay. we can touch base on that later. For now, let's keep an eye on who's sick and whether their symptoms get better or worse. We should also probably figure out who exactly we're going to include in our...trust circle.
[ Because Dipper does have more people to add now. A lot had happened since the last time they talked names. ]
[A pause.] ...the list grew, didn't it. [Because yeah, Hiro has more people to add as well.] Let's use those as our two main objectives for right now. I should head back to the workshop to start offloading more of Baymax's data to my computer. Ready to head out?
[Hiro also stands, grabbing the handle of the little suitcase before shooting Dipper a grin.]
You didn't really think I'd be moving around without Baymax, did you? [He nods down to the case.] This is just a lot easier and faster, plus he can charge while he's in there.
What do balloons do when they run out of air? [He rolls his eyes.] He's a lot small when he's deflated. Tadashi's design was pretty solid. [Proud of older brother? Absolutely proud of older brother.] Definitely comes in handy around here.

Baby steps. But, back to business. ]
What do you mean, a side-trip?

Good idea. You know? That might be the perfect first task for this info-ring thing. Seeing what everyone can dig up on possible acronyms for BARE.
